I was strolling through Katong when a warm, buttery scent stopped me in my tracks. It was coming from a little gelato shop with a clean, minimalist vibe: Birds of Paradise Gelato Boutique. One step inside and I knew I was in trouble… the good kind. This wasn’t your average ice cream stop, it felt like stepping into a botanical dessert lab.

It’s on the Michelin Guide

Birds of Paradise isn’t just hyped, it’s actually been recognized by the Michelin Guide with a Michelin Plate since 2018. That means the quality is legit.

What makes them special? They create botanical gelato, inspired by nature. Think herbs, flowers, tea, and fruits blended into delicate, creamy flavors. All natural, no artificial colors or flavors. It’s light, it’s refreshing, and it’s honestly a little magical.

There’s also fav flavors such as White Chrysanthemum, Sea Salt Hojicha, Strawberry Basil, and plenty more you won’t find at your regular ice cream shop.

And don’t even get me started on the cone. It’s handmade on-site, infused with thyme, and soft but sturdy. Sweet, warm, and just slightly crispy. I could eat a whole bag of just the cones.
